Studio class sign-up
Group lessons are the perfect opportunity for students to make new friends while learning some new skills.
I conduct the studio group lesson in a masterclass type setting where each student will play a short exercise piece, a scale, or a section of a piece that they are currently playing or recently passed off. Each student will have a turn performing and we will all discuss what we observe and like about their performance. This is a great way to get advice and encouragement from not only me as the violin instructor, but from their peers as well. Masterclasses are a common and a very beneficial experience in music and most musicians participate in several of them throughout their careers. I participate in a masterclass each week where I get instruction not only from my professors but from my peers as well and it has proved to be extremely beneficial to my growth as a musician. The masterclass lesson will also give some students their first experience performing for a group outside of their family. Performance experiences are a key part of learning any musical instrument. The masterclass lesson also prepares students for upcoming recitals and/or auditions. Each student will need to bring their instrument and books (including their notebook to take notes) for this lesson.
Group lessons are typically held once a month for an hour on Saturdays when attendance for at least three students is confirmed.
